Dubai South – The Community of You – is a new 145-square-kilometer master-planned city built on individual pleasure. Dubai South, the emirate’s major urban project, is based on His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision as Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. DWC is the core of a complete airport city, located south of the city and near to the fast-growing suburbs of “new Dubai.”

Dubai World Central (DWC) is the city’s future airport. DWC opened its doors to passengers on October 27, 2013, with a capacity of 5-7 million, but cargo operations began considerably earlier, on June 27, 2010. DWC will be the world’s largest airport when it is completed, with an annual capacity of more than 160 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo. The airport is part of a larger project that encompasses a multiphase development that includes the Dubai Logistics City (DLC), Commercial City, Residential City, Aviation City, and Golf City.
